Holiday Banner

Kind of a rainy day today, thinking of making pumpkin bread or muffins.  I finished making several banners for the holidays out of vintage music, a dusting of glitter, some ribbon, and a scrabble letter.  Here is a picture of one that says NOEL.  They are for sale here and I have other words as well.  CHRISTMAS, PEACE, JOY, MERRY, AND FA LA LA.   Lovely as a hostess gift or maybe a gift for yourself.  The individual star is 2.5" and I made 4" ones with shells as a banner too.  Love keeping these hands busy.  Thinking of buying some wool and knitting needles today.  Something easy!

Vintage goodies...

I really love going to estate sales and thrift shops and digging through boxes of stuff under tables or in corners.  It is the thrill of finding just one little treasure.  Very often I will use items in my photography and then either keep them or sell them in my vintage etsy shop.  I found an ironstone pitcher, a vintage fan, and some French books the other day.  Here are the pictures I took which are for sale here and the items will be for sale here some time today.

I'm heading to Pa. for Thanksgiving and there are quite a few shops to dig through down there.  Can't wait!

Glitter, vintage music, and words...

Getting ready for the Rowayton Art Center Holiday Show.  I've seen different versions of this kind of ornament and here is my version.  It started out  as single ornaments then morphed into banners.  I love getting lost in the process.  Glitter, vintage music, and letters are everywhere.

I've also been gathering some great vintage pieces for my etsy shop and will post them later.  Have a  great day!

Happy Weekend

Fall is so beautiful with rich colors, crisp air, the smell of the fire place, or something delicious cooking.  It all works together to create a feeling of comfort.  That's the only word I can think of... comfort.
To have a beautiful fall day on the weekend is an added bonus.  Today was one of those days.  I hope you were able to experience the comfort today.
