Photography and mixed media collage are two of my favorite mediums. In this class I combine both to create work with many layers. I will teach you how I take pictures plus we will use vintage images as well as Polaroids.

I have included a list of supplies below. The supplies in bold can be found here in my amazon store (#affiliate) I am a firm believer in using what you have or sharing supplies so please don’t feel the need to purchase anything extra.

When I created this class I used tissue paper for printing. I have since switched to Tea Bag paper. Both work well but the tea bag paper is superior in strength.

Supply List:

Table top tripod for your phone. If you don’t have one you can hand hold it. The one I use is from shopcanvas.co.

Flower frog, clamp, or flower foam. Something to hold gathered natural material upright

Krylon Easy Tack

Liquitex Matte Medium

Lineco neutral ph adhesive

Gamblin cold wax

Gloves

Glue brush

Old credit card or room key

Wax paper

Collage material of your choosing. Make sure to include neutral papers

Printed images on tissue or computer paper from the folder of images you created on you computer

Canson mixed media paper or watercolor paper will work

Natural materials from outside…flower heads, seed pods, branches, etc

Vintage items to photograph

Scanner to scan vintage images and Polaroids. If you don’t have one you can take a picture of the picture

Plexi glass big enough to cover vintage images

Paints, pencils, charcoal, artgraf, or anything else you like to layer on mixed media

Scissors

Tea bag paper or tissue paper

Tea bags and coffee filters

Computer paper

Printer…mine is HP officejet pro 8710

Canvas or cradled board in the size of your choice

Polaroid camera and film if you have one or have access to one. If not there are downloadable images available to try

Two containers for water

Watercolor paper

Soft bristle brush

Spray bottle

Heavy bag of rice or kitty litter or large heavy books to weigh the collage down while drying

Old catalog to use when applying glue to paper so glue doesn’t go everywhere
