New York City in the snow...

My husband turned 60 this December and we enjoyed a wonderful snowy day in New York.  We have always tried to spend the day together on our birthdays.  I  have always looked forward to taking that time and putting the other stresses of life aside to spend the day together.  We really need to do it more often.  I'm up next.

Got to have Starbucks to start our day.

A stop at Magnolia Bakery after lunch for a birthday cupcake.

Pretty sprinkles in the window.

Bike riding in the snow.

This sight never gets old.

What's old is new again...

I find it so interesting that the more advanced we are in technology we somehow long for the old ways.  I was very hesitant about the digital age but I did join in and have really enjoyed it.  I love my camera, computer and scanner because I loved the ease of it all.  I don't miss the chemicals in the dark room, missed photographs because I didn't meter properly, or sending film off to be developed only to find there isn't anything on it.  Having said all that I have found that I'm becoming lazy about photography instead of being intentional about what I'm shooting.  I have been shooting some film and I find myself wanting to check if I have it right after the fact instead of making sure before I press the shutter.  I have also been playing around with my new toy, a Polaroid SX70... yep that's what I said...Polaroid. I really love the warm beautiful images that you get with it.  I'm in love!  Here is a little taste of what I mean.  If you are a baby boomer you might feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Tap, tap, tap...anyone still reading this blog?

I have had a very long unintentional break in my blog.  I can't believe my last post was Dec. 4th!  Several things have been keeping me busy but not so busy that I couldn't write a few lines here and there.  So, I don't really have any excuses and I hope that I can be more consistent.
My husband and my youngest son are off skiing together and spending some time with my middle son.  I don't like to ski and gave it up a few years ago.  It is something my boys and my husband love and it gives them some good one on one time with each other. I am enjoying being at home and catching up on many projects in the works.  I just purchased a Polaroid sx70 and I'm anxious to play around with it.  I really love the old feel that you get with these cameras.  I will post some of these images soon.
I mentioned in my last post that I have opened a booth in Sono Market Place.  The holiday season was great but it is a little quieter now.  I love having this place to share what I love and even though it has slowed down a bit it is soooo much fun.  The other vendors are wonderfully talented people and I enjoy being with them very much.

I'm off to have my coffee and plan the rest of the day.  It's nice to get back to my blog!
