I once found a notebook at a flea market that contained pages of handwritten letters and numbers. The owner of the book was teaching themselves typography using news paper clippings.

The pages can be printed on plain paper but the best way to use them is to print on tissue or tea bag paper so you can see the letters but the rest disappears.
